Everyday Heroes 2021 Nominations

Nominations currently open for Everyday Hero Event 

The United Way of Monroe/Lenawee Counties is looking for ordinary individuals who have demonstrated an act of heroism. 

We want to pay tribute to these individuals at our Everyday Heroes Event, honoring those persons who have shown courage, kindness, and unselfish character by their acts of heroism in the Monroe County Area.

Nominees must meet the following criteria to be considered for the Everyday Heroes Awards.  An advisory committee of community members will select the winners.  The Everyday Heroes Event is scheduled for March 2021.

1. The nominee must have been a resident or employed within Monroe County, or the heroic act must have taken place in Monroe County.

2. The act of heroism must have taken place between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2020.

3. The nominee must fall into one of the award categories:

     Fire Hero (Paid or Volunteer)
     Law Enforcement (Paid or Volunteer)
     Medical Professional Hero
     Adult Good Samaritan Hero
     Youth Good Samaritan Hero (Under 21)
     Animal Rescue Hero (animal or Person)
     Workplace Good Samaritan Hero
     Local Military Hero
     Community Hero
     Labor/Union Hero

4. There must be a specific incident.  Give complete details of the incident.

5. Completed application submitted by January 29, 2021
