Faustino “Tino” Amaya is an accomplished entrepreneur and restaurateur, currently the owner of Amaya’s Fresh Mexican Grill, where he specializes in modern Mexican cuisine and American fusion. He is also the owner of Amaya Group Inc., a restaurant consulting firm focused on build-outs, remodels, menu development, and sales forecasting, as well as a licensed State Farm Insurance Agency operating in multiple states.
Mr. Amaya began his culinary career at a young age in his grandmother’s restaurant and quickly advanced into professional kitchens and corporate training roles. He later attended The Art Institute of Dallas on a culinary scholarship, which launched a nationwide career in restaurant development and training.
He has opened and operated numerous restaurants throughout his career and is known for his innovation in menu development and restaurant operations. His work has been recognized at the state level, including a tribute award from the Governor of Michigan for his advocacy and service to youth experiencing homelessness.
In addition to his professional work, Mr. Amaya serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of Monroe and Lenawee Counties and has previously served with Habitat for Humanity and Family Counseling and Social Services. He is deeply committed to community service and mentoring the next generation of culinary professionals.
Outside of his professional and community roles, he values time with his five children and continues to explore creative approaches to modernizing classic dishes.
