Susan Vanisacker is Director of Community Relations for the La-Z-Boy Foundation, where she leads global community relations, employee engagement, and corporate and foundation giving initiatives. In this role, she also supports La-Z-Boy’s partnership as the official furniture provider for Ronald McDonald House Charities and oversees company-wide initiatives such as the Summer of Caring and Season of Caring, which encourage employee volunteerism and engagement.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Susan helped spearhead the COVID-19 Emergency Fund at the Community Foundation of Monroe County, addressing urgent community needs including food insecurity and internet access. She has been recognized for her leadership and impact, receiving the 2023 GROW Monroe Philanthropist of the Year Award and being named the 2023 ProMedica Health System Friend of the Foundation.
Susan serves on numerous boards and community organizations, including the Monroe County Business Alliance, River Raisin National Battlefield Park Foundation (Secretary), United Way of Monroe and Lenawee Counties, Community Foundation of Monroe County (President), River Raisin Center for the Arts, Monroe Family YMCA, Miss Monroe County Scholarship Board, Monroe County Link Plan, Council of Michigan Foundations Membership Board, and the Michigan Corporate Social Impact Network. She is also a former Chair of the ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital Board.
A graduate of the University of Toledo, Susan resides in Monroe with her husband and has two children, Matthew and Lauren, and a granddaughter, Reese.
